Meet Patrick
Owner and Operator
Patrick Smithson has spent more than 20 years working across the marine industry, building experience through scuba instructing, sailing, freediving, underwater media, and commercial marine operations along Australia’s east coast.
Since 2016, Patrick has worked professionally in underwater photography and video production, creating content across tourism, adventure, marine services, and commercial projects. In 2018, he founded Scubabo in Cairns, running an underwater photography academy alongside Divemaster and Instructor apprenticeship programs built around real world industry experience.
Over the years, Patrick has combined his experience in diving, sailing, and marine operations with a practical approach to creating ocean based photo and video content both above and below the surface.
